【ONEGO】Artist interview
INTERVIEW -アーティスト【ONEGO】のこれまでと今の思い、これからの思いをインタビューさせて頂きました。
株式会社LWArt（ロアート）では、社名の由来であるLife With Artをテーマに様々なアーティストにインタビュー協力をして頂き作品に対する思いや、制作中の拘りを語っていただき、よりアートを身近に感じてほしい、関心を持ってほしいという思いの元インタビュー企画が始動しました。
そのインタビュー第8弾アーティストとして、作品制作だけではなくアパレルデザインなど多岐にわたって活躍されている【ONEGO】さんにインタビューをさせて頂きました。

ONEGO
兵庫県在住のアーティスト。
白黒×単色カラーをベースにシンプルな線でちょっぴりクールな女の子を描く。
女性自身が描くからこそ、より魅力的に伝えられる女性特有の丸みや柔らかさを武器に作品を制作。
現在作家として作品を出展しながら、アーティストのグッズデザインやアパレルブランドのコラボデザインなど幅広いジャンルで活動中。
An artist based in Hyogo (Japan).
She draws girls who are little “different and cool” with simple lines based on black-and-white and monochromatic colors. Her works are created with feminine roundness and softness that can be conveyed more charmingly than ever, with a touch by a woman herself.
Currently, while exhibiting her works as an artist, ONEGO is active in a wide range of fields, such as designing goods for artists and collaborating with apparel brands.
🟢アーティストになったきっかけ
🟢How I Became an Artist
アーティストになったきっかけは元々小さい頃から『絵を描くこと』っていうのがすごい好きで、社会人になるタイミングで私が絵を描くことが好きなのを知ってくれている友人かiPadをプレゼントしていただいて。そこからデジタルのイラストを描く様になったんですけれども、デジタルで描く楽しさが、すごく新鮮で。
そこからちょっと日記みたいな感じで毎日描いている絵をInstagramにアップする様になっていって、ちょっとしてからアパレルブランドさんからTシャツのデザインのコラボ依頼とかをいただける様になってきてという感じでした。
ただ、社会人として働きながらだったので仕事と絵の両立っていうのがすごく難しくて、ちょっと思い切って勤めていた会社を辞めてアルバイトをしながらそういう絵の活動をちょっとずつ始めていきました。そこで、あるキュレーターさんからお声がけをいただいて展示会を。「個展をしてみませんか？」という風にお誘いいただいて。
画面越しじゃなくて直接、作品を見てもらえる機会をいただけることってすごいことなんだなってその時ちょっと思いまして、明確なものではないんですけど私にとってアーティストになったきっかけというのはその個展のお誘いをいただいた時だったのかなという風に思っています。
How I became an artist is that I’ve loved “drawing” since I was a child. When I started my career, a friend who knew about my passion for drawing gifted me an iPad. That’s when I began to create digital illustrations, and I found the joy of drawing digitally to be really fresh and exciting. From there, I started posting my daily drawings on Instagram like a diary. After a while, I began to receive collaboration requests for T-shirt designs from apparel brands.
However, balancing work as a full-time employee with my art was quite challenging. So, I decided to take a leap of faith and quit my job, starting to work part-time while gradually pursuing my artistic activities. At that time, I was approached by a curator who invited me to hold an exhibition. They asked me, “Would you like to have a solo exhibition?”
It was an opportunity to share my work in person, rather than just through a screen. I realized how incredible it was to have a chance to have my work seen by others, and while I can’t pinpoint it exactly, I believe that the invitation to that solo exhibition was a significant moment that marked my journey to becoming an artist.
🟢作品のこだわっているポイントは？
🟢About my works
顔の表情とかポージングていうところはちょっと工夫してこだわっているところになります。女性が描くからこそ発見出来る女性らしさみたいなところを表現したいなと思っていて、女性らしい丸みとか柔らかさ、且つ芯が強かったり、格好いい女性像みたいなところを女性目線だからこそ描けると思っているので、そういったところを表現しています。
I pay special attention to facial expressions and posing, as I want to express the femininity that can be discovered specifically by a woman drawing. I strive to depict the rounded, soft qualities of femininity while also portraying a strong and cool female image. I believe that these aspects can be expressed from a woman’s perspective, which is why I focus on them in my work.
🟢個展に向けての思い
🟢Thoughts on the upcoming solo exhibition
今年は個展を夏と冬、2回やらせていただきます。その個展ていうのが（前途の）ギャラリーさんでやらせていただいた時ので、ちょうど2年前になります。初めて個展をやってからこの2年間の間、たくさんのアーティストさんやギャラリーさん、お客様といろいろ繋がりができて、私自身もたくさんの作品を制作し続けてきたのでちょっとは成長してると思います。
今年の個展は、そんな成長したONEGOの作品を皆さんに楽しんでいただけたらなと思っております。
This year, I will be holding two solo exhibitions, one in the summer and one in the winter. The last time I had an exhibition was at a gallery two years ago. Since my first solo exhibition, I have connected with numerous artists, galleries, and customers over these two years, and I believe I have grown as an artist while continuing to create many works.
For this year’s exhibitions, I hope everyone will enjoy the works of ONEGO that reflect my growth.
