東京を拠点に活動する現代アーティスト。文化服装学院卒業。アパレル・デザイナーとして勤務後、商業イラストレーションの分野で活動を行った後、人物像が理想化され、意味づけられ、消費される構造そのものへの問題意識から、2021年より現代美術の文脈へと制作の軸足を移す。
時代とともに変遷する多元的な女性像をリアルタイムで発信してきたitabamoeは、広告では背景として埋もれていた日常の細部がカンヴァスに載ることで主体の座を得るプロセスをとる。周縁性の再定義という20世紀の社会文化史の潮流のみならず、アーティスト自身の来し方ともリンクする。
itabamoeの画風は、理想化や消費から距離を取り、自己決定性を内包した女性の人物表象を視覚言語化されたものであり、現代における人物表象とその消費の構造を問い続けている。

A contemporary artist based in Tokyo. After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, she worked as an apparel designer before moving into the field of commercial illustration. From 2021 onward, driven by a critical awareness of the structures through which human figures are idealized, assigned meaning, and consumed, she shifted the focus of her practice to the context of contemporary art.

Continuously presenting multifaceted images of women that evolve with the times, itabamoe’s work foregrounds everyday details that had previously been relegated to the background in advertising, allowing them to emerge as subjects once placed on canvas. This process resonates not only with the currents of twentieth-century social and cultural history—particularly the redefinition of marginality—but also with the artist’s own personal trajectory.

itabamoe’s visual style distances itself from idealization and consumption, articulating representations of women that embody self-determination. Through this visual language, her practice persistently interrogates contemporary modes of figuration and the systems through which they are consumed.
